Two Deadlines Approach for International B2B Competitions

Think you're creative? You have two days to prove it by entering the TABPI Design Challenge, sponsored by Trade Association Business Publications International. The challenge is to design a cover for a hypothetical issue of an imaginary magazine, Concrete Times. The reward is $250 for the overall winner. The challenge is open to all B2B art directors and designers.

The TABPI Design challenge deadline is this Friday, Feb. 29.

Also looming is the deadline for TABPI's Tabbie Awards. This international awards competition is open to trade, association and business magazines published at least four times per year, completely or partially in English. Magazines must accept paid advertising. This year TABPI has added a new web category, Online Feature. (Online entries don't need an associated print publication, but they must be b2b-oriented and accept advertising.)

Entries for the Tabbies must be submitted by Wednesday, March 5.

ASBPE Conference Scholarships
Available for International Editors

In my earlier post about the Young Leaders Scholarship (YLS) I neglected to mention that in addition to the five Young Leaders Scholarships, there are two International Young Leaders Scholarships (IYLS) available. In addition to the hotel accommodations that the regular YLS covers, the IYLS provides a travel stipend of up to $500 to compensate for the extra expenses incurred by overseas editors travelling to the ASBPE national conference, which this year is in New York City.

The IYLS is open to all business editors, including print and digital, who work outside of the United States. Criteria for the International YLS are the same as for the regular U.S. ASBPE scholarships. It's cosponsored by ASBPE and The Trade Association Business Publications International (TABPI). If you publish international publications with overseas staff, the IYLS is well worth looking into.

Tabbies Deadline Is March 7

If you publish international editions, you may want to enter this awards program specifically for international business-to-business publications. The Tabbies are sponsored by Trade, Association and Business Publications International (TABPI) and cosponsored by ASBPE. The awards program is open to English-language B2B pubs around the world that are published at least quarterly.

This year two new categories have been added to the competition: Feature Design and Best B2B Website. There are 19 categories in all.

The entry form (and more information on the awards program) is available at the TABPI website.
